SAN DIEGO, CA — Decision Sciences International Corporation (Decision Sciences) announced today the appointment of Dr. Stanton D. Sloane as its President and Chief Executive Officer.

“We are extremely pleased that we were able to attract an industry veteran like Dr. Sloane to lead Decision Sciences into full commercialization and an international rollout of our advanced security and detection technology, specifically the Multi-Mode Passive Detection System (MMPDS),” said Decision Sciences’ Chairman Dr. Gene Ray.

Dr. Sloane is the former President and CEO of SRA International, a $1.8 billion NYSE-listed information solutions company that was sold last month to a Private Equity Firm. During his four-year leadership, SRA grew significantly.

Prior to joining SRA International in 2007, Dr. Sloane led Lockheed Martin’s Integrated Systems and Solutions, a $5 billion systems integration unit that supported the U.S. Department of Defense and other national security customers. Earlier, he was President of Lockheed Martin’s Management/Data Systems, where he initiated and consummated several strategic acquisitions. After serving in the United States Navy, Dr. Sloane began his career with General Electric (GE), holding several international business development roles for GE Aerospace, a unit that was subsequently acquired by Martin Marietta and later merged with Lockheed Martin, further reflecting Dr. Sloane’s substantial, experience in business development, operations and manufacturing.

Decision Sciences Board Member, and the company’s lead investor, Stuart J. Rabin said: “…with nearly three decades of front-line experience in the national security industry, Dr. Sloane brings leadership and a wealth of experience in effectively and successfully launching and building domestic and international corporate operations, which is exactly what Decision Sciences needs at its present stage of development.”

Robert Whalen — who has led Decision Sciences from a technology startup to a fully developed pre-production company — will continue his role of developing MMPDS, as well as other disruptive technologies, as the President and CEO of the Decision Sciences Development Corporation business unit. Bob Whalen stated: “Decision Sciences is the innovator of the Multi-Mode Passive Detection System, a proven and revolutionary security technology that swiftly, effectively and automatically detects, locates and classifies suspicious anomalies – such as potential dirty bombs – that may be hidden within land, sea, or air cargo.  Dr. Sloane’s proven know-how in national security, transportation systems and manufacturing is a perfect fit for moving our remarkable technology into the international markets and successful full-scale production.”
